This Honey has to be one of the nicest honeys I have ever tasted. It comes from bees harvesting Manuka bushes, and you do not need much at all to enjoy the full flavour. As of this review, it is priced at £50, which is pricey for honey, but it is real Manuka, so the price is understandable. The quality is extreme, and the texture is very thick and rich; it looks beautiful too. The taste is phenomenal, and you get 250 grams of the honey. It is definitely worth it to try or gift, I would absolutely recommend this product
This is the real deal if you are already a fan of Manuka honey. If you are new to this then prepare for a real treat. This is the MGO 830+ quality. Among the very best you can get. The texture is more like a rich caramel than the honey you are probably used to. The smooth texture hides a wealth of delightful and delicious floral and sweet notes. The quality is unsurpassed and the mono floral nature of the honey ensures there is consistency at all times. There is a price to pay for this wonderful stuff though, and this is why I restrict myself to a few jars of the very best honey each year, and buy the slightly lower priced, but still delicious, 300 to 400 quality for the rest of the year. If you like honey then you will want to try this for yourself.
This honey has the necessary certificates to know it is genuinely Manuka honey, which can only come from New Zealand. At a level of 800 plus MGO and UMF of 20 plus it is at the highest end of the scales and seen as the most superior of this honey – this is reflected in the price. As such, it is best seen as being used in small amounts for specific, targeted use. Definitely not for spreading on your toast! Scanning the QR code on the side of the jar leads to more information about the honey and the brand including its accreditations and quality assurances. These include being Non GMO, Glyphosate residue free and halal. The MGO / UMF level stands for its concentration of methylglyoxal within it and its purity and potency. This is the compound which gives it its health benefits. At the level this honey holds, research suggests using a small amount for gut health, skincare and minor wounds. Research suggests not to use this with heat as this could diminish its effectiveness. So won’t be using it for lemon and honey drink. Instead ‘taken neat’ is more likely. All honey should not be eaten by those under a year old. The honey itself has a light caramel colour. It has a thick ish consistency and personally find the taste not that distinctive – certainly less sweet than the honey we usually have. There seems to be a bit of an after taste which isn’t unpleasant. It will certainly be ‘go to’ next time I have a sore throat. It feels like it would be just the thing to sooth it. In conclusion this is genuine, the real deal and has so many health benefits. Used sparingly it will last a while. You are paying for quality which is what this product is.
We've all heard about the magic of Manuka honey - it's really the bees knees of honey. I've tried a few Manuka honeys over the years, including lower MGO varieties, so I was curious to see how this much stronger version compared. This premium MGO 830+ Manuka honey is rich in naturally occurring methylglyoxal (MGO), renowned for its powerful antibacterial properties. It apparently helps to support oral health, soothe sore throats, aid digestive wellbeing, and provide antioxidant benefits. It's also thick, smooth, and delicious to the taste buds ! Despite the high MGO rating, the flavour is milder than I expected. It has a pleasant natural sweetness with a subtle earthy note, but without the harsh medicinal taste that stronger Manuka honey can sometimes have. This is a big bonus as it makes the honey rather palatable and tasty! The consistency is wonderfully thick and smooth, making it easy to enjoy straight from a spoon (but try not to be too greedy!) The quality feels premium, and the New Zealand origin and certification give confidence that it's a genuine product. It's certainly not inexpensive, but high-strength Manuka honey rarely is. As with all things in life you very much get what you pay for. i think it's an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-strength New Zealand Manuka. If you're specifically looking for a potent, authentic Manuka that still tastes enjoyable, this is a great option and one I'd happily recommend. Five stars from me and recommended!
Product - Manuka Honey MGO 830+ Review - I already have a supply of MGO 550, so I can offer a useful comparison between the two. Given the higher MGO rating of this honey, I expected it to have a stronger, slightly bitter, or even medicinal taste. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s sweeter than expected, without being overly sweet, and has subtle earthy undertones that are largely complemented by the delicious natural honey flavour. The texture is exceptionally thick, gooey, and almost toffee like, similar to the MGO 540. However, it has a slightly less caramelised flavour profile, allowing the honey characteristics to come through more prominently. In summary, if you’re looking for a high-strength MGO Manuka honey, this is an excellent choice. Despite its potency, there is none of the tingling sensation, bitterness, or lingering throat aftertaste that some may associate with higher MGO ratings. Instead, it’s smooth, sweet, and highly palatable straight from the spoon. While the flavour profile differs slightly from the MGO 550, it remains unmistakably honey like and very enjoyable. Thanks for reading, hope it’s been helpful.
