MGO 514 is often used in a targeted manner to help manage  a sore throat or  support wellness and supplement routines. It has a complex flavour and a dark colouring which is a result of the high concentration of compounds related to this unique honey and found in these higher grades.

Monofloral Manuka Honey means that it comes solely from the nectar of the Manuka bush. This results in a higher concentration of the compounds that gives Manuka honey it’s distinct, taste, colour and reputation and therefore a higher MGO rating. This honey is certified 100% natural Manuka honey and can be taken by the teaspoon from the jar or enjoyed in a hot drink.

Independently verified and scientifically tested to ensure the MGO rating, this is all natural Monofloral Manuka honey from the foothills of Mt Egmont, Taranaki.

Our hives can be found in the remote Manuka forests of the South Taranaki region, New Zealand. This isolation, away from built up city’s and people, result in some of the purest honey in the world.

Manuka honey is produced when the bee pollinates the Manuka bush, a plant native to New Zealand. Manuka Honey from New Zealand is harvested by bees from the nectar of the indigenous Manuka shrub (Leptospermum scoparium). It contains Methylglyoxal (MGO) which is a key compound that sets Manuka Honey apart from other honey.

The benefits of Manuka honey have been celebrated for centuries, including soothing sore throats and supporting general wellness. It was the indigenous people of New Zealand, the home of Manuka Honey, who, thousands of years ago, first recognised its healing properties and today it is appreciated all over the world.

With Egmont Manuka honey you know that it has been independently verified and scientifically tested to deliver the methylglyoxal (MGO) grade & potency you see on the jar. We produce, pack and test managing the who process from hive to home, you can rest assured that when we say our honey is high quality, it's nothing less.
